Based in Oshawa Ontario , The Durham Dragons Track & Field club serves runners of all ages from the Durham Region. Athletes from Pickering , Ajax , Whitby , Oshawa , Courtice and surrounding areas are welcome to join. The Durham Dragons Athletic Track & Running Club has a goal to promote wellness amongst youth by providing and encouraging quality running activities and events, both recreational and competitive for the beginner and elite athletes. You can join the club at anytime and begin a program designed to meet your goals.

Dragon Power Program

The Dragon Power Program is available for team sports training. Soccer, Hockey, and Baseball clubs benefit from this program by taking their strength and conditioning to the next level. This affordable alternative yields impressive results and positions the team or individual ahead of others in their sport. Traditional training with most sports clubs can fall short of desired results; a well-designed program with a qualified coach is the best solution to get big results in as little as 4 weeks

Keeping it FUN for the kids. The key word to motivating kids to be active is "fun." According to experts, children participate in physical activity for enjoyment. Take one step at a time. Encourage your child to RUN, bike, or play ball with friends, or take a 10-minute activity break while doing homework, watching TV, or playing computer or video games. Motivate your child to participate in school-organized sports and physical education classes! Become a role model! Get the whole family involved in running , games, bicycling, or other active play. If you're involved, your child is more likely to get involved. Participating in physical activities together may also increase the amount of quality time you spend with your children

Some reasons to begin Walking and Running Walking is one of the best forms of exercise. It uses up oxygen, causing your body to burn stored fat. For example, you'll expend about 100 calories by walking a mile. That might not seem like a lot at first, but just think about it. Most people average just under 3 miles through the course of their day. If you add an enjoyable morning jaunt or a brisk evening walk you could easily move 4 miles a day. If you walk 4 miles 4 times a week, you can burn 1600 calories! That's half a pound of fat gone. Add more steps to your day while making sure not to eat more calories than you use, and your body can't help but trim down.
